Pleats Please!

I can’t think of pleats without thinking of Japanese designer Issey Miyake. Pleats Please by Issey Miyake first launched as a line in 1993. He pioneered his technique during the 80s. First, the garments were cut, and then placed between paper sheets and finally heat treated in a press to create his signature pleated look.

Pleats are everywhere this spring and something to consider adding to your wardrobe. Here’s some inspiration for you. There are some wonderful dresses and skirts out there tempting me. Prada is my favourite for pleats for SS 2012, incorporating pleats with another favourite – colour blocking.
